Product Description:

AC 28 is a dense-graded hot mix asphalt concrete primarily used as a binder course (intermediate layer) in Malaysian pavement structures. Featuring a larger 28mm nominal maximum aggregate size, it provides structural strength, stability, and efficient load distribution beneath the wearing course. Compliant with JKR/MS standards.

Key Features:

  • Mix Type: Dense-graded Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete (HMAC).
  • Layer Type: Binder Course (Intermediate Layer).
  • Aggregate Size: 28mm Nominal Maximum Aggregate Size (NMAS).
  • Binder Type: Standard Penetration Grade Bitumen [Specify grade, e.g., 60/70 or 80/100].
  • Properties: High stability, excellent load-bearing capacity, structural strength.
  • Compliance: Manufactured to meet JKR/SPJ/xxxx specifications and relevant MS standards for binder courses.

Ideal for:

  • Binder (intermediate) layer in flexible pavement construction for roads and highways.
  • Base course layer in some pavement designs.
  • Areas requiring significant structural capacity to support heavy traffic loads.

Benefits:

  • Structural Strength: Provides the main load-bearing capacity within the asphalt layers.
  • Load Distribution: Effectively spreads loads from the surface to the sub-base.
  • Pavement Stability: Creates a strong, stable foundation for the wearing course.
  • Durability: Contributes significantly to the overall longevity of the pavement structure.
